Is it better to stretch before or after a workout?

While you don’t need to complete a workout to follow a stretching program, you should avoid stretching cold muscles. These are less pliable, which makes stretching much more difficult, and can lead to pain or injury. If you’re not exercising, it’s a good idea to get your muscles warmed up and working with some light cardio, or by following Sassy’s stretch warm-up routine.

How long does it take to get flexible if you stretch?

Daily stretching exercises — like the ones in this program — can improve your flexibility in as little as a month. Most people notice a difference after only two weeks, and build on this to gain a greater range of movement at week four. However, it’s worth noting that the longer you practice these stretches, the more flexible you will become.
